Career Corner | Freshmen Invited to Become Pepsi Scholars

First-year students are invited to apply for the Pepsi Scholars program at Ohio University.

This leadership program for freshman students is designed to help individuals develop a wide variety of leadership skills and experiences, in addition to receiving a monetary scholarship.

Important Dates

Criteria

  • Be a first year student (freshman) at Ohio University.
  • Be enrolled as a full time student.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Exhibit leadership potential.
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout the program’s entirety.
  • Be in good standing with the university judicial system at the time of application and remain in good standing during tenure as a Pepsi Leadership Scholar.
  • Attend weekly meetings (that will be scheduled based on the award winners’ availability) throughout the academic year.
  • Attend all retreats and workshops during the fall and spring semester.

What Do the Scholars Do?

  • One hour weekly meetings
  • Personal development workshops
  • 21st Century Leadership program and certificate
  • Community Service events
  • Group retreat(s)

How Long is the Program?

  • One year total
  • Second semester of freshman year (spring) through first semester of sophomore year (fall)
