Bobcat Student Orientation Leader Amanda D’Agostino ’17 got to know Athens—and a lot of Bobcats—in her first-year learning community.

“My favorite memory from my first year was all of the activities I did with my learning community,” she says. “We went all around Athens—ziplining, art museum, gardens, etc. It really helped me make my first friends here on campus.”

Find out more about things to do in Athens.

Her advice to the Class of 2020: “Try new things. Don’t be scared to try something that you have never done before because you may love it! And if you don’t, that’s OK.

“Also, never be afraid to ask for help. We truly are all in this together. Everyone is always willing to help.”

A Psychology–Pre-Physical Therapy major, D’Agostino says she loves “staying active—running and working out—and being outdoors.”
