It’s time for psychology students to start looking for summer 2022 internships and undergraduate research opportunities.

To help, the Psychology Department provides a webpage listing summer opportunities in various fields relating to psychology, such as cognitive psychology, human resources, social psychology and many more. Students also are encouraged to check the bulletin board outside of Porter 100 throughout the spring semester.

Psychology Department Internship Coordinator Susan Tice-Alicke, Ph.D., in the College of Arts & Sciences, notes that students should be applying now for summer opportunities, as many of them have early February application deadlines. Students are encouraged to contact her or the Psychology Department Advising and Resource Center (psychadvising@ohio.edu) for guidance on what types of internships might match their career or graduate school interests.

Summer 2022 opportunities include being a camp counselor at Camp Ramapo in New York or interning at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Abercrombie & Fitch or the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.

Students also can apply for research positions here at Ohio University as well as other universities such as Indiana University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Harvard. Yale offers a summer program for students interested in eventually earning a Ph.D. in psychology.
