“The most significant career development experience I have had at OHIO was attending the Saturday Series. I was able to learn how to perfect my resume, how to develop an elevator pitch, and much, much more,” says Sara Dowler ’21.

A junior, Dowler is making in English Literature and Writing. She is a member of the College of Arts & Sciences Student Ambassadors and a copy editor for Thread Magazine.

The Career and Leadership Development Center next offers the Saturday Series on Sept. 7. The Saturday Series allows students to complete both the Career Readiness Training Program and 21st Century Leadership Program Workshops—all in one day.

“At the CLDC, I have participated in the Saturday Series, gone to mock interviews, and met with a career and leadership coach,” Dowler says, who wants to become an editor at a publishing house.

Her advice to fellow Bobcats: “My advice would be to not be afraid to reach out to people or ask for help. It can be nerve-wracking reaching out to alumni or faculty on campus asking for help. However, some of the best opportunities arise after reaching out, so don’t be afraid to ask!”

The following descriptions are from the CLDC website.
