Transfer Tip|Equating Transferred Courses May Take Longer than Expected

By Kristi Conrad

Academic Advisor and Transfer Specialist for the College of Arts & Sciences

Equating transferred courses in some instances can be a very simple task. Courses that have been transferred often from Ohio Public Institutions can often be posted quickly. Some schools have transfer agreements set up with Ohio University so they post automatically.  However, that is not the case for all credits. Some courses that are not often transferred or are from institutions that we have not received credit from in the past, can actually take some time to research and post. We may need to track down course descriptions and occasionally request syllabi in order to do equations. Sometimes there is not enough information in order to make a full equation and it may be given elective credit. Whatever the case please be patient as the process can take some time. If it seems like quite a while since a credit has arrived you are welcome to inquire about it. Just keep in mind that some classes take longer to post than others. Should you have any questions regarding your transfer credit, please contact: Kristi Conrad at: conradk@ohio.edu.
