With insect-born diseases all over today’s headlines, a Fall 2016 Biological Sciences course takes a closer look at Insects, Science, and Society.

Dr. Bekka S. Brodie, Adjunct Professor of Biological Sciences, brings her passion for insects to the classroom.

BIOS 2350 Insects, Science, and Society

Tier II Applied Science & Mathematics (2AS)

Description: This course introduces non-majors to fundamental concepts of biology by using insects as examples. Students gain an appreciation of how insects have shaped human culture and history for thousands of years and how the scientific understanding of insect behavior, physiology, and ecology solves real-world problems.
