Online classes are great for students who need to take a course that would not otherwise fit into their schedule. Sometimes, students utilize online classes to complete a foreign language requirement. For a few institutions and a few languages, this is a possibility, but take caution: learning a foreign language online can make the course even more challenging than it would be in a classroom setting.

If your only option for completing a foreign language requirement is through online learning, please contact: Kristi Conrad, conradk@ohio.edu for information on how to complete a petition for transient study to have your course pre-approved. Not all online foreign language courses are created equal, so make sure to get pre-approval instead of facing the possibility of not having the course accepted, and having to repeat the class in the future.
