As a college student there are many requirements to fulfill and it can feel overwhelming just completing the basics. However, college is also a time to explore courses that help satisfy personal interests outside of your major! A good way to build exploratory courses into your schedule without adding to your graduation timeline are the Liberal Arts Distribution hours. As an Arts and Sciences student you need at least 9 hours each in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. If you plan ahead with your advisor you can also use these hours to help complete a minor or certificate. Arts and Sciences Themes can also be a great way to explore a secondary interest. So while you’re working on those spring schedules and eagerly waiting to push the enter button when your enrollment time hits, be sure to check out the wide range of courses that Arts and Sciences has to offer.
