WOUB Interviews Allan about Psychology and Social Work Clinic’s Coping with COVID Sessions

WOUB’s Tom Hudson interviews Dr. Nicholas Allan for a Conversations from B podcast on “Ohio’s Psychology Department Tackles Mental Health Issues Related to COVID.”

Allan is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ohio University and oversees the Psychology and Social Work Clinic, an outpatient mental health clinic staffed primarily by doctoral student therapists of the Ohio University Clinical Psychology program.

The pandemic’s forced isolation also has heightened levels of loneliness and depression, according to Dr. Allan.

These topics are subjects of Dr. Allan’s research, but he did not want to only study these issues. Instead, he wanted to provide some help and assistance to people in the region.

So, the Psychology and Social Work Clinic at Ohio University offers low-cost sessions on coping with stress and anxiety to both campus and community members….
