Students & Alumni Invited to Explore Law During Virtual Pre-Law Day, Nov. 12

Ohio University’s annual Pre-Law Day program will be held virtually this year on Nov. 12 from 9:40 a.m. to 1:35 p.m.  All Ohio University students and alumni are invited to participate.

The program is designed to provide students with an interest in legal education and legal careers an opportunity to learn from Ohio University alumni who have gone on to practice law.

Pre-Law Day consists of a series of panels and roundtable discussions that will feature Ohio University alumni who have gone on to obtain Juris Doctor degrees and have practiced law. They will speak about their law school and professional experiences. Students can attend as many panels as they desire and are encouraged to come with questions about law school, practicing law, and the legal profession.

Olurin is staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of New York, where she practices indigent criminal defense in New York City. Olurin earned a B.A. in Political Science Pre-Law, a minor in African American Studies, and a certificate in Law, Justice & Culture from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.

She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York on a full-tuition scholarship.

A native of The Bahamas, she was an active and distinguished student at Ohio University, participating in the Ohio University Women’s Association, Sigma Lambda Gamma and Phi Alpha Delta and receiving a variety of honors.
