Physics & Astronomy faculty and students presented five papers at the Sixth International Workshop on Compound-Nuclear Reactions and Related Topics CNR18 held in Berkeley, Calif., in September 2019.
The CNR* series was initiated in 2007 with a meeting near Yosemite National Park. It has since moved to Bordeaux (2009), Prague (2011), São Paulo (2013), and Tokyo (2015). The workshop series brings together experts in nuclear theory, experiment, data evaluations, and applications, and fosters interactions between these groups.
Dr. Alexander Voinov’s talk was titled “Problem of level densities in compound nuclear reactions.”
Dr. Charlotte Elster spoke on “Faddeev Approach to (d,p) Reactions as Tool to Study Exotic Nuclei.”
Dr. Carl R. Brune presented “The Transition from Isolated Resonances to the Continuum.”
Dr. Steven Grimes gave a talk titled “Rotational enhancement factor for nuclear level densities.”
Doctoral student Md. Abdullah Al Mamun presented “Pairing properties from random distributions of single-particle energy levels.”
