Alumni News | Cribben, First Plant Biology Ph.D., Passes Away

Dr. Larry D. Cribben, the first Plant Biology doctoral student at Ohio University, passed away July 5, 2018, at the age of 78, according to his obituary.

He was a professor for 25 years at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He was awarded emeritus status in 1997.

He published journal articles in The American Biology Teacher and Water Air and Soil Polution.

He earned a Ph.D. in Plant Biology in 1972 from the College of Arts & Sciences at OHIO. His thesis was on “The effect of environmental conditions on the germination, growth, and distribution of Betula nigra L.”
