Howard, Forsythe Posters Win First Place at Expo

Geological Sciences students presented six posters at Ohio University’s annual Student Research and Creative Activity Expo. Both graduate and undergraduate students presented research on diverse topics including fossil identification, geochemistry of harmful algal blooms, reconstructing Pleistocene and Pennsylvanian paleoclimates, and methods for detecting ancient asteroid impacts.

Junior Geological Sciences major Ian Forsythe took a first place for his poster “Delineating Species of Rafinesquina in the Type Cincinnatian: A Morphometic Approach.”

Second-year graduate student Lucas Howard took a first place for his poster “Nutrient and Sulfate Variations along the Maumee River, Ohio, USA.”
