Dr. Ji Young Choi of Ohio Wesleyan University will give a public lecture on “Historical and Theoretical Views on The Rise of China” Tuesday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. in Porter Hall 104.
Choi’s lecture will address political and economic aspects of China’s emerging role in international politics.
The event is hosted by the Ohio University War and Peace theme and the Asian Studies program at the Center for International Studies.
Choi is Associate Professor of Politics and Government and affiliated professor of International Studies at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he also is Director of East Asian Studies. He specializes in international relations history and theories, international political economy, foreign policy, and East Asian security, and political economy. Choi completed his Ph.D. at Purdue University, an M.A. at the University of Kansas, an M.I.S. (Master of International Studies) at Sogang University, and a B.A. in Philosophy at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Choi is the author of articles in various academic journals and has contributed media appearances on NPR’s All Sides with Ann Fisher and Voice of America.
