English Professor Dinty W. Moore has been named DePauw University’s Mary Rogers Field and Marion Field-McKenna Distinguished Visiting Professor of Creative Writing and will spend the Spring 2019 Semester teaching and promoting nonfiction writing at the Indiana college.

Endowed by J. David Field, professor emeritus of English at DePauw, the Field appointment brings nationally recognized writers to DePauw for one semester to work closely with English majors, offer craft talks and a public reading, and to work on their own writing projects.

DePauw University is a private liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,300 students.

Moore is the author or editor of more than a dozen books, most recently The Story Cure: A Book Doctor’s Pain-Free Guide to Finishing Your Novel or Memoir (Random House, 2017) and Flash Nonfiction Funny (Woodhall Press, 2018).
