Women’s Studies Alum Lectures on Gender Disparities at Rogers State

Ohio University alum Dr. Juliet Evusa is part of the Rogers State University Pryor spring lecture series where three faculty members will share insights into their research in other countries, as well as perspectives on cultural issues in such diverse places as Kenya, South Korea, and Italy.

Evusa earned a Women’s Studies graduate certificate from Ohio University, along with an M.A. and Ph.D. in communications.

“The final lecture in the spring series will be a presentation from Dr. Juliet Evusa entitled, ‘Modern Day Gender Disparities through the Experiences of Impoverished Students in Western Kenya.’ A native of Kenya, Evusa serves as Associate Professor of Communications and Greg Kunz Endowed Chair of Communications, as well as serving as Assistant Director for RSU’s Academic Enrichment program. Dr. Evusa spent last summer conducting research on educational opportunities and outcomes for boys and girls in western Kenyan schools. She currently is preparing her research for publication. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Maharaja Sayajirao University in India; and a master’s degree in international affairs, a graduate certificate in women’s studies and doctorate in communications, all from Ohio University,” reports The Times (Oklahoma).
