Daily News: Alum Added to California Law Firm’s Name

The Dayton Daily News reports that an Ohio University alum who studied Journalism and Political Science “is seeing his name added to a law firm’s name.”

Law firm Gordon & Rees is adding Southern California partner Michael “Miles” Scully to the firm’s name. Scully was born and raised in Dayton’s Riverside neighborhood, the firm said….

Scully is a graduate of Stebbins High School and Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor’s in journalism and political science. He earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. From 1979 to 1988, while in college and law school, he was a reporter with the Dayton Daily News writing sports and feature articles. He also served as an aide to former Ohio State Sen. Neal F. Zimmers Jr.

Scully joined Gordon & Rees in 1988 and moved to San Diego in 1992 after the firm opened its first branch, becoming the office managing partner in 1999….

“Clients want good quality and good value and we have heard them. When you give clients what they want, growth is inevitable,” Scully, 51, said in the firm’s announcement.
