Psychology Alum Named Dean at Lock Haven University

Dr. Scott Carnicom ’95, an Ohio University College of Arts & Science alum who majored in Psychology, has been named the founding dean of the College of Natural, Behavioral and Health Sciences at Lock Haven University, reports Gant Daily. Carnicom graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Carnicom is a professor of psychology and serves as an assistant to the provost at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.  He began as the associate dean of the honors college at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and has remained active in the National Collegiate Honors Council, serving on several committees and editorial boards. Carnicom’s recent scholarship has focused on honors pedagogy and liberal arts education….

“As the newest member of the Lock Haven community, I am humbled and honored to serve as dean of the college, and look forward to building on such a strong foundation of academic excellence and student success,” said Carnicom.

“The sciences, coupled with the arts, humanities and other fields of study, are crucial to the future of higher education and our world.  I am so pleased to join an institution that clearly holds these same values and am very grateful for the hard work of Dr. Jonathan Lindzey and the entire faculty and staff who have deftly guided our nascent college through its formation,” Carnicom added.
