The Geological Sciences Colloquium Series presents Dr. Gregory Springer discussing “Cave surveying and exploration: Sport, science or both? A dark conundrum,” a conversation about the intersection of science and sport in cave exploration on Friday, Sept. 11, from 12:55 to 1:50 p.m.
Abstract: Cavers are almost geologists by default given their frequent immersions in rock, and often cave exploration has led to new scientific discoveries and strange revelations. Springer is a veteran cave explorer and scientist who will discuss both sides of the sport based on his and others experiences.
