Abstract: In spite of their unicellular character, bacteria have powerful mechanisms that allow them to function collectively. Going beyond classical methods based on quorum sensing, in this talk I will discuss how bacteria use electrical signaling to coordinate their behavior in bacterial biofilms.

In the second part, I will focus on how antibiotic sharing impacts antibiotic tolerance in mixed bacterial populations.
