The campus and Athens community are invited to come explore BioBlast on The Ridges and search for plants, animals, and fungi on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ridges.

The Ohio University Biological Sciences Graduate Society is hosting the BioBlast in conjunction with the Ohio University Museum Complex, The Ridges Land Lab and Nature Preserve, the Wildlife Club, and the Plant Biology Graduate Student Association.

“We will spend a few hours outside looking for all the species we can find. You may arrive anytime between 9 to 11 a.m. and will be assigned to a team, then your naturalist leader will lead you to an area where you will spend about 1-1.5 hours searching,” say organizers on the flier.

“Everyone is invited! Families, students, everyone, as all participants will be on teams with a leader that will help you search and learn about the biodiversity in Ohio University’s backyard. Please park at the Kennedy Museum and sign in at the registration table by the museum doors. Refreshments, snacks, magnifying glasses, and field guides will be available at the registration table. Feel free to bring along your binoculars and cameras if you want!”
