The Environmental & Plant Biology Department hosts an Alumni Career Panel on Thursday, Feb. 1, 3-4 p.m. in Baker Center 239.

Nanda Filkin, Quidel

Nanda Filkin earned an M.S. in Plant Biology in 2013 from the College of Arts & Sciences. After graduation, she worked as a research technician in the Biological Sciences and Biomedical Sciences departments at Ohio University. “When that position ended in 2013, I was hired as a Research Associate in Research and Development at Quidel (Diagnostic Hybrids) in Athens, OH. Quidel develops medical devices and tests for both infectious and non-infectious diseases. During my tenure at Quidel, I have helped develop several molecular diagnostic assays.” She is now a Product Development Associate at Quidel.

Greg Snowden, Davey Resource Group

Greg Snowden ’07 is Senior Biologist at the Davey Resource Group, a division of the Davey Tree Expert Co. He earned a B.S. in Plant Biology from the Honors Tutorial College, followed by an M.S. from Notre Dame in Biological Sciences in 2009. He specializes in ecological restoration, aquatic resource compensatory mitigation, and Clean Water Act regulations.

Richard Wiemels, Ohio University Biological Sciences

Wiemels earned a B.A. in Plant Biology in 2008 and an M.S. in Plant Biology in 2013 from the College of Arts & Sciences. He is a Lab Manager in the Carroll Lab in OHIO’s Biological Sciences Department.

This event is part of the College of Arts & Sciences Career & Networking Week, Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, designed especially for undergrad and graduate students majoring in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
