English students are invited to an English Alumni Career Panel on Friday, Feb. 2, in the Faculty Commons, Alden Library 301.
There are two panel times:
- 11:50 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
- 1:10 and 1:55 p.m.
- Watch live or later on A&S TV.
The panelists are profiled below.
This event is part of the College of Arts & Sciences Career & Networking Week, Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, designed especially for undergrad and graduate students majoring in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
The Panelists
Tasha Attaway
Tasha Attaway ’90, ’97M
Tasha Attaway is a two-time Ohio University alumna, receiving her bachelor’s degree in English (’90) and master’s degree in journalism (’97), who never dreamed that she would stay in Athens.
Attaway worked for Ohio University as a full-time employee while she completed her master’s degree and currently serves as communications specialist III, campus events (AKA OHIO central calendar empress) in the University Communications and Marketing office. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., she also serves as worship leader at Grace Christian Center, a church in Athens.
“I’ve been here a long time, so my favorite OHIO memory is hard to select,” she says. “But I think it would have to be the first time I sang the National Anthem at a men’s basketball game. Getting all of the high fives as I walked up to my seat was the biggest thrill!”
Aaron Schwarz
Aaron Schwarz ’11
Aaron Schwarz ’11 has held several positions in the corporate digital marketing world and currently works as a Senior Analyst in the Digital Channels division of American Airlines.

He graduated with a degree in English from the College of Arts & Sciences in 2011.
Married in December of 2017, Schwarz lives in Dallas with his wife, Michelle, and their black lab, Molly. In his spare time, you can find Aaron spending time with friends and family, traveling or at any Dallas sporting event.
Some of his favorite memories from Ohio University include late nights with roommates on Court Street, playing (basically) every intramural sport imaginable, being challenged by outstanding professors, and of course when the Bobcats beat Georgetown in the 2010 NCAA tournament.
Kelly Francis of the Boston Federal Reserve
Kelly Francis ’01
Kelly Francis ’01 is currently the Archivist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and formerly was with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. She earned a B.A. in English from the College of Arts & Sciences at OHIO.

After college, Francis put her knowledge of literature to good use by working at a bookstore—until she had an epiphany that she could do a similar job but get paid (only slightly) better by becoming a librarian. While researching library science graduate programs, she discovered the archives profession. She moved to Boston in 2006 to attend Simmons College, where she received a Master’s of Science in Library and Information Science with an Archives Management concentration.
She worked as the Assistant Digital Archivist for Textual Collections and a Processing Archivist at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum from 2007-17, where she was part of a small team that created and produced content for the Library’s Digital Archives.
