Dean Plassmann congratulates Fall 2021 graduating students

Dr. Florenz Plassmann, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, congratulates Fall 2021 graduates in a video message on YouTube.

“Throughout your time as an OHIO student, we’ve encouraged you to roll up your sleeves, explore your interests, and participate in research, creative activities, and service learning across our region. We have challenged you to help build sustainable communities and solve real-world problems, both here in Appalachia and beyond,” he said.

“Whatever path you choose next—whether you are heading to graduate or professional school or beginning your career—I know that you will put your critical thinking skills to work to advance science and society—because the world doesn’t need you to just navigate change. It needs you to lead it— forever forward.”

Plassmann told the graduates, that “one thing is certain – Ohio University will forever be part of you. You’re now an official part of the global network of College of Arts & Sciences alumni, each one of you change makers in your community and beyond.

“I’m so proud of this class and all that you’ve achieved during these difficult times. From all of us at the College of Arts and Sciences, congratulations.”
