Over the course of the past four weeks, I have been watching different motivational and career videos just to keep my overall morale up. I believe that watching these has really helped just in terms of staying positive and gaining insight on building a better business base from the perspective of professionals who have pursued the same career path as myself.

One of the motivational influencers that I have been looking to for guidance is a man named Eric Thomas. He speaks with passion and aims to uplift his audience through his words. Some of the questions that he asked throughout numerous videos include: What do you want in your personal relationships? What do you want in your health? What do you want financially? Each of these questions have stuck with me especially during the current state that everyone is in because they all hold value and importance to what we do in our everyday lives.

In regards to the career management videos, one video that really stuck with me was a TedTalk by a woman named Rosabeth Kanter. She discussed what things it would take to be successful, and broke it down in three steps. The first step being Inclusion, this is a person getting their foot in the door to wherever they wish to make it too. The second step is Influence, so what route will you take to get to the table you want to be sitting at? Lastly the third step is Impact, how will you take the knowledge that you’ve gained and help others reach a place that they want to be?

I’ve come to label these as the 3 I’s and feel that it should be used when thinking about a career.
