Happy Beginnings | 2020 LJC Certificate Graduates Starting Careers, Grad School

Editor’s Note: The Happy Beginnings series features recent College of Arts & Sciences graduates who are getting started in careers, graduate school and service.

Center for Law, Justice & Culture faculty are very proud to recognize and celebrate the achievements of OHIO students graduating in Spring 2020 with the center’s Certificate in Law, Justice & Culture:

  • Lydia Wendel graduates with a degree in Political Science Pre-Law, with a minor in Anthropology. Wendel will head to the Moritz College of Law at the Ohio State University, where she has received a full-ride scholarship.
  • Brea Muzykoski graduates with degrees in Political Science Pre-Law and African American Studies, and a Certificate in Diversity Studies. Muzykoski will complete the Masters in Law, Justice & Culture at Ohio University in the fall.
  • Jada Sparks graduates with degrees in Political Science Pre-Law and Sociology-Criminology. Sparks will complete the Masters in Law, Justice & Culture at Ohio University in the fall.
  • Lilli Sher graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
  • Kristin Tate graduates with degrees in Political Science and Sociology. Tate will be staying in Athens to complete the Masters in Law, Justice & Culture, where she will work for Ohio University Legal Affairs.
  • Alexandria Wainwright graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Business Administration, along with a minor in Spanish, and a certificate in Technology and Society. Wainwright will head to Boston University School of Law, where she has received a full-ride scholarship.
  • Lauren Smith graduates with degrees in History and Political Science, as well as a minor in Spanish. Smith plans to work in the field of history or the public sector.
  • Kiersten Mitchell graduates with degrees in Political Science/Pre-Law and Sociology/Criminology. Mitchell will take a gap year before enrolling in a Masters program, and will work in reentry.
  • Shae Woodburn graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Political Science. Woodburn will pursue her J.D. at William and Mary College of Law this Fall.
  • Noah Barr graduates with a degree in Sociology-Criminology, and minors in Psychology and Political Science. Barr will enroll in the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.
  • Gabrielle Lorenzo graduates with degrees in Sociology-Criminology and Political Science Pre-Law, as well as a minor in Psychology. Lorenzo will begin law school in the fall at Touro.
  • Alexis Hummer will be graduating with degrees in Political Science Pre-Law and Sociology-Criminology, and a minor in Business Administration. In the fall, she will be attending Capital Law School.
  • Jordyn Zimmerman graduates with a degree in Education Policy, and a minor in Communication Studies. Zimmerman will attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Education.
  • Erika Hidalgo graduates with a degree in Sociology-Criminology, and a minor in African-American Studies. Hidalgo plans to take a gap year before she attends law school in the fall of 2021.
  • Aissatou Boye graduates with degrees in Sociology-Criminology and African-American Studies, as well as a Certificate in Diversity Studies. Boye will continue her education at Ohio University in the Sociology Masters Program.
  • Dominic Detweiller graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Sociology, as well as minors in Music, Political Science, and Psychology.
  • Georgia Curran graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Communication Studies.
  • Daniella Prosser graduates with a degree in Political Science Pre-Law.
  • Madeleine Geiser graduates from the Honors Tutorial College with a degree in Political Science Pre-Law.
  • Sydney Sayre graduates with a degree in Sociology-Criminology, minors in History and Political Science, and Certificates in European Studies, and War and Peace Studies.
