This is the same recipe that my mother has made for years, and it is often said that it was this pudding that helped her snag her husband. This recipe is another great springtime treat that will please everyone. My mom is from the South, and this no bake banana pudding is a staple in our lives!

Banana Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 4 bananas, sliced

Directions:

  • 1/2 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in condensed milk, pudding mix, cold milk and vanilla until smooth. Fold in 1/2 of the whipped topping.
  • Line the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish with vanilla wafers. Arrange sliced bananas evenly over wafers. Spread with pudding mixture. Top with remaining whipped topping. Chill.

It is important to use room temperature cream cheese so the recipe is smooth. I have been making this recipe for over two years for family and large parties and have NEVER had any leftovers. People get upset if I don’t bring this with me!

Dirt Pudding

My favorite springtime recipe is dirt. Not actual dirt..the dessert! Dirt is simple to make, and the main ingredients are pudding, whipping cream, and Oreos. I love dirt because it is fun and simple to make. The recipe is affordable and this dessert is fluffy, light, and great for spring!

Ingredients:

  • 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant French vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (14 ounce) package chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies, crushed (divided)

Directions:

  1. Whisk French vanilla pudding mix with milk in a large bowl until softly set, about 2 minutes. Pudding will thicken as it stands. Cream confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, and butter in a separate bowl until smooth and creamy. Stir cream cheese mixture into pudding until thoroughly combined; gently fold frozen whipped topping into the mixture.
  2. Place half the cookie crumbs into the bottom of an 9×12-inch dish; retain remaining crumbs for topping. Spread the filling over the layer of cookie crumbs and top with remaining crumbs, covering completely. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

This dessert is a crowd pleaser. If you are a fan of chocolate, I recommend using chocolate pudding instead of french vanilla pudding. I think it is nice to have a variation of this dessert that isn’t all chocolate. My whole family loves this recipe! Sometimes, I add coconut flakes instead of crushed up Oreos. When making this recipe with my seven year old sister, I add in gummy worms which makes her love this recipe more. Great springtime recipe!
