For students interested in helping other Bobcats, Students Defending Students (SDS) is accepting applications for adviser positions from now until Feb. 12.

SDS is a subsidiary of the OHIO Student Senate. This one-of-a-kind organization provides student advisers who assist other students going through the process of Community Standards. SDS student advisers assist students who are accused of misconduct such as underage drinking or drug usage.

The student organization is dedicated to upholding students’ rights.

“Our student representatives uphold the rights of the Bobcat Bommunity in meaningful ways,” says former representative, and first-year law student Chloe Quin.

  • To apply, students should pick up an application from the SDS office, Baker Center 302, on the third floor across from Student Senate. Applicants must submit the form along with a resume, cover letter, and class schedule, to the SDS office.

The position is open to all students, regardless of major or year. Freshmen and sophomores are especially encouraged to apply. While all students are encouraged to apply, SDS is particularly beneficial for students interested in law.

“This organization has given me valuable law school experience and helped me gain connections and leadership skills,” Associate Director Abby Bentley says.

Please email any questions about the application process, or the organization itself, to studentsdefendingstudents@gmail.com or call 740-593-4045. Or contact the Director of Recruitment and Training, Brooke Pasquale at bp997416@ohio.edu.
