It is week four of the semester, and while many of you may have just started to get the rhythm of your spring schedule, it’s already time to think about your summer plans.

Summer courses are now available to view online through the Course Offerings website. Summer term does not have advising holds; however, I encourage you to talk over your plans with an adviser. Registration for summer session opens Feb. 17.

Summer is a great opportunity to:

  • Catch up on credit hours if you fell behind.
  • Get ahead on completing your degree.
  • Re-take a course in order to boost your GPA.
  • Take a course that helps complete a minor or certificate.
  • Take that requisite course required to move on in a sequenced course.
  • Take that one challenging course so that you can focus all your efforts for success.
  • There are both full- and half-term course options so you can take a class and still have a summer break.

If you are not able to stay in Athens to take summer classes, there are plenty of online course options available to choose from. Finally, be sure to talk with your financial aid adviser about how taking summer courses could affect your funding.

To make an appointment with me or another adviser in the College of Arts & Sciences Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs log into My Ohio Success Network and select “Schedule Appointment.”
