Dr. Richard Vedder
Dr. Richard Vedder, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at Ohio University, was interviewed by Carolina Journal Radio about his recent book, Restoring the Promise: Higher Education in America.
“One statistic that was already obvious when I was starting to write the book, and is even more so now, is that we have nearly 2 million fewer students going to college than we did in the year 2010. People are starting to say no to college, and of course the question is why,” he said. He mentioned rising tuition and affordability and discussed other industries that have undergone disruption, adding. “It’s taken the higher ed community a long time to realize what’s going on.”
