Ecolunch presents Elijah Lee discussing “It’s When You Can’t Hear the Bats, That’s When the Bats Are Coming: Acoustic Studies of Bats in Yellowstone” on Feb. 5 from 11:50 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Irvine 159.

Lee is a Biological Sciences graduate student “researching bat occupancy in Yellowstone National Park using stationary and mobile acoustic monitoring techniques. Over the summer, 32 ultrasonic recording devices are deployed in remote backcountry locations, and 12 acoustic transects are performed on road sections across the park. An additional aspect of my research includes a longitudinal study of bat activity levels in areas of the park affected by wildfires.” Johnson is working in the lab of Dr. Joseph Johnson, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences.

Ecolunch is a long-running Ohio University seminar series that meets on Wednesdays from 11:50 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Irvine 159. All seminars are open to the public.
