The Beijing press specializes in history, philosophy, politics, anthropology, classical linguistics, geography, and literature.

Moore is Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at Ohio University.

When asked about the ways the Chinese edition came about, Moore recollects his time at an annual  international book fair in Germany, where trade publishers from around the world come together to decide which books will be released in foreign language editions.

“Authors are seldom invited, and I certainly had nothing to do with the negotiations. I’ve had earlier books translated into Italian, German, and Finnish, and it is always a thrill when the publisher sends me an e-mail letting me know of the sale,” Dinty says.

Sharing about his excitement on this new venture, Moore comments, “the teaching of creative writing as a discipline is very new in Asia, and according to China Daily is just beginning to catch on in China, where a dozen or so universities and colleges have begun to offer creative writing degree programs or to introduce creative writing classes into traditional Chinese literature programs.”

“I’m not sure if my book will find its way into any of those classes, but it is exciting to imagine that it might be the case,” he adds.
