Sandal Becomes Chair of APSA Section on Religion and Politics

Dr. Nukhet Sandal

Dr. Nukhet Sandal, Associate Professor and Chair of Political Science, has become the new Chair of the Religion and Politics Section of the American Political Science Association.

The purpose of the Religion & Politics Section is to encourage the study of the interrelations between religion and politics, including the politics of religious pluralism; law, religion and governance; faith, practice and political behavior; and the politics of secularism, in the United States as well as in comparative, historical, and global perspective. The section has more than 600 members and home to the journal, Politics and Religion, published by the Cambridge University Press.

Sandal was one of the founding members and the Chair of the Religion and International Relations Section of the International Studies Association between 2016-2018.
