Chicago’s WGN interviewed Dr. Richard Vedder, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at Ohio University, via Facetime in a segment headlined “Author Richard Vedder on the college admissions scandal.”

There have been scandals like this for years. Wealthy people have been sort of buying their way into college for a long time. In fact there was a book written more than a decade ago called ‘The Price of Admissions’ about this kind of thing. Our own U.S. President Donald Trump’s dad gave some money to the University of Pennsylvania, which facilitated Donald Trump in transfering from Fordmam to Penn. And Donald Trump himself gave some money to Penn that allowed Donald Trump Jr. to go there, or I think facilitated it. Nothing illegal about it. It’s happened on a number of occasions in the past. A lot of wealthy people have done this in that fashion–overtly as sort of a gift to the school. So, yeah, this sort of thing has been going on for a long time.
