Food Matters Club members Rachel McDonald and Chloe Meston deliver food donations to the Cat’s Cupboard in Baker Center.

Cat’s Cupboard, the on-campus food pantry at Baker Center, started 2019 with a new name and a new location, but its mission remains the same, providing easily accessible food to students and community members in need.

Issues of food justice and access are incredibly important to Food Studies theme students and faculty, and especially the issue of food insecurity present on campus and in the community. The Food Studies theme, and its student organization, Food Matters Club, hosted a week-long food drive to help collect food for Cat’s Cupboard and increase student awareness of its role on campus.

Recently renamed to Cat’s Cupboard, the food pantry at Baker Center is always accepting donations of non-perishable food and personal care items. Donations can be dropped off at Baker Center 345. Through the Bobcats Helping Bobcats program, various other resources exist in addition to Cat’s Cupboard, all of which are working toward combating food insecurity and hunger in the community.

Find out how to access food resources as well as how to donate.
