Food Studies Hosts Discovery Kitchen Workshops for Students, Starting Jan. 24

What's Cooking at the Discovery Kitchen cooking workshop? Sweet potato and black bean burgers and sweet potato fries

The Food Studies theme invites students to a four-part Discovery Kitchen workshop series, all done in partnership with Community Food Initiatives.

Participants will make and enjoy a nutritious & delicious meal using local produce, FREE of charge.

Students are invited to attend any of the events; attendance at all four is not necessary.

These workshops are an initiative to help build a resilient regional food system that engages students and community members with their local food network. The four dates are:

  • Thursday, Jan. 24, from 5-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 21, from 5-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, April, 25 from 5-7 p.m.

All events will take place in McCracken Hall 120, the demonstration kitchen.

What is Discovery Kitchen? The Community Food Initiatives Discovery Kitchen project provides recipe samples and teaches free healthy cooking classes to those in need, using seasonal and local produce whenever possible.
