Drs. Jessica White and Travis White, assistant professors of Chemistry & Biochemistry, welcomed nearly 200 chemists from 20 universities and colleges in Ohio and surrounding states (Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia) to the 2018 Ohio Inorganic Weekend in Athens on Nov. 9 and 10.

This conference has been held every fall since 2000, and each year it is hosted by a different university or college in Ohio (and sometimes surrounding states).

Friday evening’s poster session was highlighted by an undergraduate poster competition in which students were judged by graduate student volunteers, further emphasizing the conference’s focus on student involvement. Two poster prizes were sponsored by Chemical Science and Dalton Transactions, both journals from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
