Graduate Student Research Fund Proposals Due Nov. 1

Applications for the College of Arts & Sciences Graduate Student Research Fund are due Nov. 1, 2018.

The fund supports graduate students in their research endeavors by providing 20 grants of $1,000 annually (10 in a fall cycle, 10 in a spring cycle) based upon a competitive proposal process.

Awards will be made to support travel to field sites to collect data, travel to and registration fees for conferences (must be presenting), supplies and materials directly associated with research, professional development opportunities (e.g., workshop to learn a new skill not available on campus), technology directly related to research (laptop or tablet), etc. Priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate a clear and compelling link between the funds and proposed research or scholarly activity.

Eligibility

Awards are open to all full-time graduate students from any discipline within the College of Arts & Sciences at either the master’s or doctoral level. Students must be in good standing and have a GPA above 3.500. Priority will be given to students in the terminal year of their degree program, but awards will be made on a competitive basis (i.e., the best proposals will be funded).

Please send proposals (see Proposal Presentation instructions) to Erin Thompson at thompse2@ohio.edu by noon on Nov 1, 2018.
