Natasha Lorenz joined OHIO’s Police Department after graduating from OHIO with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and sociology in May 2014.

The Sociology & Anthropology Alumni Speaker Series presents Natasha Lorenz ’14 on “How and Why I Became a Police Officer” on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 p.m. in Bentley Annex 007.

Lorenz has been a police officer with the Ohio University Police Department for four years.

She graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology and a minor in Spanish from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.

Lorenz wasn’t sure where she wanted to go professionally upon graduating, but she knew she loved Athens, and wanted to give back to this university. She spent several months applying for the job at Ohio University’s Police Department. She then attended the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy at Hocking College, and began her work “on the road” here in January of 2015.

She is currently finishing a graduate degree in Sociology.
