Dr. Mark Lucas, Associate Professor of Physics & Astronomy, helped children to create judo-bots with the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery in The Plains, according to an Athens Messenger story headlined “Robots battle it out at The Plains Public Library.”

THE PLAINS — It was an exciting afternoon at The Plains Public Library, where children created and battled judo-bots with one another as part of a family-friendly robot event.

The Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery organized the event as part of the museum’s ongoing Discovery Lab summer program.

Instructor Mark Lucas, a faculty member at Ohio University, also lent a hand. Lucas can normally be found working on complex physics problems or working with local high schools to help students learn about physics.
