Mattson Talks about Carter’s ‘Malaise’ Speech on Truth, Politics and Power

Dr. Kevin Mattson, the Connor Study Professor of Contemporary History at Ohio University, was on the podcast Truth, Politics and Power, hosted by Neal Conan, former host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation.

They discussed the changing geopolitics of oil and what that means for politicians and especially President Trump. Mattson talked specifically about Jimmy Carter and the “malaise” speech, and that moment in time. Among Mattson’s areas of expertise are crisis situations and the presidency, perception of government, political history and campaigns, and President Jimmy Carter.
