I hope your spring break was restful as well as inspirational. Believe it or not, it is time to plan for the fall semester. Next week marks the start of the official advising season.

In order to be prepared for your appointment, I have a few tips to make you look totally organized.

  • Refresh your DARS and take a look at your remaining requirements. This alone will make you look like a pro.
  • Check out the Course Offerings Page to see what courses are being offered in the fall.
  • Make a list of questions that you may want to ask your adviser.
  • Consider your summer plans and goals beyond fall semester.
  • Do your homework about the field you are interested in pursuing and come up with a plan for your next steps. This can be helpful to talk through with your adviser.
  • Lastly, think about the present and how your current classes are going. If you are having any issues, let your adviser know. Also, let them know  if you are doing well. We like to hear the good stuff, too!
