Congratulations to CLJC Certificate Students, Class of 2017

We are very proud to recognize and celebrate the achievements of OHIO students graduating with the Center for Law, Justice & Culture’s Certificate in Law, Justice & Culture:

  • Center for Law Justice & Culture logoSallie Cohen graduated with a degree in Psychology and Sociology- Criminology. She moved to Columbus and is currently looking for a job in the non-profit field. 
  • Hayley Dashiell graduated with a degree in Journalism News and Information and moved to Washington DC in June 2017 and is pursuing opportunities in public policy.
  • Danielle Easton graduated with a degree in Political Science Pre-law and Sociology-Criminology. She is pursuing a JD at Cleveland Marshall in Fall 2017. 
  • Kendra Green graduated with degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies and a minor in Sociology. Kendra is pursuing a graduate degree in Public Administration at the Voinovich School at Ohio University beginning in Fall 2017.
  • Emily Hake graduated with a degree in Political Science Pre-law and Sociology- Criminology.
  • Ellenore Holbrook graduated with degrees in Political Science and Economics. She interned at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland in the Community Development Department this summer. She is pursuing a masters degree in Public Administration from the Voinovich School of Public Administration at Ohio University. 
  • Anika Holland graduated with a degree in English and a certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She worked as the legal outreach assistant at the Center for Student Legal Services at Ohio University during the summer. In the fall, she will be attending the UC Berkeley School of Law to study public interest law. She is specifically interested in reproductive rights law, the intersection of gender and the law, and workplace/education law.
  • Alena Klimas graduated with degrees in Political Science, Global Studies- War and Peace, History and an Islamic Studies certificate.  She worked as a Youth Worker with the Guskte Shelter, which is a branch of the WV Children’s Home Society, until September. In early September, she departed for Morocco to work as a Youth in Development Volunteer.
  • Alexandra Mannarino graduated with a degree in Sociology-Criminology and a minor in Spanish. She is moving to Kansas City St. Louis to take a year off. 
  • Chloe Musick graduated with degrees in Political Science and Sociology- Criminology.
  • Selina Nadeau graduated with a degree in Journalism, a minor in Political Science, and a certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her thesis, “In Defense of Propaganda: The Republican Response to State Created Narratives which Silenced Political Speech During the Northern Irish Conflict”, analyzes alternative means of political communication during a period of increased press censorship. After graduation, she will begin a year of Americorps service in Athens and the surrounding counties. 
  • Sabrina Neimeister graduated with degrees in Sociology-Criminology and Psychology. She is pursuing a master’s degree in criminal justice at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa.
  • Lindsey Radzevich graduated with a degree in Sociology Criminology and she moved to Florida after graduation in December 2016.
  • Andrew Savage graduated with a degree in Journalism Strategic Communication and a minor in Sports Administration.
  • Paige Shoemaker graduated with degrees in Political Science Pre-Law and Sociology-Criminology. She is teaching high school for Teach for America in Cleveland for two years.
  • Kelsey Surmacz graduated with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Political Science. She is seeking a career in Event Planning and is looking to relocate to the Columbus area.
  • Courtlen Vizzuso graduated with a degree in Political Science. They will be participating in PULSE as a PULSE Fellow, which is the Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience. They will be paired with a nonprofit organization in Pittsburgh and serve alongside them for a year.
  • Kalten Walter graduated with a degree in Philosophy and is attending City University of New York School of Law to study public interest law in Fall 2017.
  • Shawndea Woods graduated with a degree in Sociology Pre-Law and a minor in African American Studies. She is currently working as a Legal Assistant in Bankruptcy law at Manley Deas & Kochalski LLC , a financial law firm in Columbus, OH. She plans to attend law school in the fall of 2018.
