Career Corner | Athens Police Department Seeks Patrol Officer Applications

The City of Athens is seeking applicants for patrol officers.

These are immediate opening, and the posting closes Aug. 15.

The starting pay is $23.57 per hour, plus shift differential, education incentives and an excellent benefits package. The Civil Service exam will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at 9 a.m. at the Athens Community Center located at 701 E. State St., Athens Ohio. The physical agility test will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the West State Street Park at 398 W. State St., Athens, OH 45701. You must be at least 20 years of age and turning 21 upon hire date, and under the age of 41 to be appointed. General inquiries may be sent to the Human Resources Director via e-mail: HumanResources@ci.athens.oh.us. Interested applicants may obtain an application packet at the Mayor’s Office, City Bldg., 8 E. Washington St., Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Athens Police Department, 11 N. College St. via the city website. Completed applications must be received in the Mayor’s Office by 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017. The city reserves the right to recruit additional applicants if an insufficient number are received. The city encourages applications from women and minorities.”
