Veggie Sale at the Plant Biology Learning Garden

The Food Matters Club and the Food Studies theme invite faculty, staff and students to get their veggies for Independence Day grilling on Friday, June 30, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Plant Biology Learning Gardens.

“Come out to the PBIO Learning Gardens off West State Street for Friday’s veg sale!” says Dr. Theresa Moran, Assistant Professor & Food Studies Theme Director. The garden is located on West State Street (behind the Innovation Center).

Available for Friday in the garden for purchase:

  • Cauliflower
  • Broccoli
  • Beans
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumber
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Potatoes
  • Cabbage
  • Beets
  • Kale
  • Zucchini
  • Leeks
  • Green Onions
  • Basil
  • And to sweeten the holiday, Athens’s Honey for sale!

Please note that quantities vary, and veggie sale is first-come, first-served. Proceeds benefit the Food Matters Club.

There are now two opportunities to get your produce locally, all while supporting the Food Matters Club and the Food Studies internship program:
  • Wednesdays at the Atrium Café in Grover Center (1-3:30 p.m.)
