Alum Writes: ‘Defeat the Electoral College, a Broken Institution’

Ohio University alum Samuel Blankenship ’15 wrote a guest column for cleveland.com on “Defeat the Electoral College, a broken institution.”

Blankenship double majored in Political Science and History in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Voting, people say, is our most direct and effective way to run our government.

In theory, we get a real say in who leads us.

The reality is, however, that many of our voices are not heard, and are in fact dismissed and ignored in favor of that most archaic institution, the Electoral College.
