Athens News | ‘Same-Sex Couple Reacts to Election by Getting Married’

The Athens News reported that Dr. Loran Marsan, Visiting Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies at Ohio University, responded to the presidential election results by getting married.

Loran Marsan, visiting assistant professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Ohio University, and Jolena Hansbarger, a local artist/entrepreneur, have been together for three and a half years. They had been planning to get married for a while, but Trump’s win last week pushed them to the brink.

So, Hansbarger and Marsan met in front of the Athens County Courthouse last Wednesday afternoon amid a crowd of supporters, family and Marsan’s students, and tied the knot.
