This week I would like to focus on our seniors who will be graduating and heading out into the “Real World” this December.
Hopefully you’ve all applied for graduation (the deadline was Monday!) and you’ve met with an adviser to ensure that you will be meeting your requirements by the end of this term.
But have you started to think about what comes next? Instead of avoiding the inevitable, that you’ll soon be leaving Athens, be prepared for the next step in your life!
- Talk with your faculty and advisoes to ask about references. You’re going to need them!
- Finalize your resume and cover letter with Kacey Schaum (schaum@ohio.edu).
- Start/continue applying to jobs or graduate/professional schools.
- Organize any important papers and documents that you want to keep from your classes.
- Start to figure out your living arrangements for post-graduation.
- Be sure to have a support system of family and friends in place.
- Confirm your Commencement plans.
- Start checking off your Athens Bucket List!
