Check out the Rural Women’s Studies Association Blog

The Rural Women’s Studies Association is working hard to improve the visibility of rural women’s studies research and activism around the world. Did you know that RWSA has its own blog? If you have not already done so, check it out at ruralwomensstudies.wordpress.com.

Join the conversation. Comment on others’ blog posts. Post ideas, opinions, or other relevant content on the RWSA Facebook page or Twitter account. There also is an ongoing discussion on how to define the conference theme for the 2018 triennial meeting at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, USA.

  • Contribute a post. Or multiple posts. Anyone who is serving or researching rural women should be able to write a paragraph or two about what they are working on. We’d love to hear about what you’re working on or thinking about. Recent posts have discussed a wide range of interesting topics, from a gendered analysis of the Beverly Hillbillies to rural black women’s activism in Arkansas.
  • Invite others to contribute a post. What are your colleagues or your students working on? What great local grassroots project should others hear about? What archival collections should we be exploring?
  • Join our editorial team. Help us expand the reach of this blog, and with it, the field of Rural Women’s Studies.

Ready to dive in? Or even dip a toe? I’d love to talk with you! Contact Cindy Prescott at cynthia.culver@gmail.com.
