Sociology Alumna Enjoys Being a Change Catalyst

Holly Burkett

Holly Burkett’s consulting firm helps diverse clients develop people, programs and processes geared towards engaging talent, improving performance, and guiding strategic change.

Holly graduated with her Bachelors degree in Sociology in 1974 from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.

As Principal of Evaluation Works, a performance consultancy in Davis, CA., she was invited to author a chapter on change leadership in the ATD Talent Management Handbook (2015) published by the Association for Talent Development (ATD). The handbook offers progressive insights on the current state of talent management and includes 20-plus chapters written by more than 30 esteemed contributors, including Noel Tichy, Ed Lawler and Marcus Buckingham.

She was also a featured contributor to “The Rise of HR: Wisdom from 73 Thought Leaders”, a landmark anthology published by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in collaboration with the “father of modern HR” Dave Ulrich. This work was distributed to over 1.5 million HR professionals around the world.

Holly is a frequent conference presenter, an international workshop leader and an author on human capital topics.

She has a book on sustainable learning organizations, “Learning for the Long Run”, coming out with ATD in July 2016.

Holly is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds a Ph.D. in human capital development.

“I enjoy being a change catalyst for individuals, teams, and organizations.

“I also enjoy helping teams and leaders show how their work adds relevant, real-world strategic value to the clients and communities they serve.

“Everybody wants to make a difference in some way.”
